EMPLOYEE DRUG ABUSE IN INDUSTRY

Depending on the length of the teaching session, the presentation may focus on a drug or several drugs that are readily available and commonly used in the local community. The material included in the presentation is practical and realistic, and audiences will gain an understanding of the scope of the drug problem and its effects on their community. Participants will have a better understanding of:

  • The scope of the drug problem
  • The risk factors for drug abuse
  • Routes of drug administration
  • Drug testing parameters for employees
  • Onset and duration of drug-induced effects on the user
  • Indicators of drug use
  • Physical and psychological sign of drug toxicity
  • Long term effects of drug abuse
  • Effects on the fetus and young children
  • Effects on the family and community
  • Meth Lab Hazards, Recognition and Personal Safety
A comprehensive handout accompanies each PowerPoint presentation. The information presented in the sessions is regularly updated to include new information on each drug or new drugs on the street.

Prior to scheduling a presentation, ACT on Drugs will solicit input from the organizers and tailor the presentation to meet the requests of the audience.
